  Chapter 7 of "Social Media Communication: Concepts, Practices, Data, Law, and Ethics" discussed developments and investments in mobile media. It also explained how advertising online has impacted social media. Apps like Facebook, Instagram and Google make a big profit from advertising. That fact supports my view that influencer marketing has made social media grow into a business. As a company owner if influencers sponsor your products, you can grow your business significantly by using social media. (2020 Lipschultz). Lipshutlz discussed how social media is having a significant impact on our society. It has created and bonded communities but also has pushed corporate branding and “cancelled” individuals and celebrities for engaging in socially unusual or immoral behavior. Lipshultz brought attention the issue of "Big Data," in which an individual gives up almost all of their privacy to big social media sites, which store not only user personal data but also data that the sites collect from other sources through cookies and IP tracking. I have been wanting to take a break from social media for a while and I only want social media to use for school or professional purposes. Social media nowadays has become so toxic and it takes a lot of time out of my day when I could be doing something more productive and healthy. Social media has become exhausting. I don't want to see any more negative content on social media or the way individuals can be so uneducated and demeaning to others. Simplicity in life is important and I want to try that instead without the need of social media. I feel like I have avoided using AI Chatbots for those reasons so I haven’t tried ChatGPT. It sounds interesting but concerning because of moral concerns in regards to ChatGPT producing inaccurate information since it can generate conversational text. So I don’t know if I would be interested in signing up to use it. I also read about the AI VTuber which I found more interesting because it has evolved beyond other AI Chatbots.
